HEIstorical Project Meeting Held in Zrenjanin to Align 2026 Activities

Zrenjanin, Serbia – February 11, 2026

A project meeting within the HEIstorical initiative was held on February 11, 2026, at the Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” in Zrenjanin. The meeting brought together key project partners to review progress, align on upcoming activities, and plan the next phase of implementation.

The event was hosted by the Zrenjanin team, represented by Prof. Eleonora Desnica, Prof. Dalibor Dobrilović, Prof. Ivan Palinkaš, Jasmina Pekez, Milan Nikolić, Ljiljana Radovanović, and Bogdana Vujić. The meeting was attended by the project coordinator, Prof. Dorin Radu (Transilvania University of Brașov), as well as representatives from Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek and the University of Novi Sad.


Review of 2025 Activities and Planning for 2026

The meeting focused on reviewing the activities implemented in 2025, as well as discussing reporting obligations and confirming priorities for 2026.

Partners acknowledged the successful progress made during the first phase of the project, with the project coordinator expressing appreciation for the strong commitment and collaboration across the consortium.

A key topic of discussion was the planning of fieldwork activities for 2026, with a particular focus on:

  • Installation of sensors in historical buildings
  • Initial data collection and digitization processes
  • Active involvement of students through fieldwork activities

Fieldwork Activities Across Partner Regions

The upcoming phase will involve extensive fieldwork across multiple regions, including Vojvodina, Transylvania, Bitlis, Osijek-Baranja County, and Banat.

In each region:

  • Students will work alongside professors to collect and digitize data
  • 750 characteristics will be recorded for 50 historical buildings per region
  • Participants will receive European Digital Credentials (EDC) upon completion

Key Upcoming Activities

  • Vojvodina (April 2026 – tentative)
    Sensor installation and Training of Trainers (ToT), combined with student fieldwork
  • Transylvania (May 27–29, 2026)
    Data digitization with involvement of UNITBV students and all partners
  • Bitlis (June 23–25, 2026)
    Fieldwork and data collection with BEU students
  • Osijek-Baranja County (September 28–30, 2026)
    Data digitization activities led by UNIOS
  • Banat (November 25–27, 2026)
    Final regional data collection coordinated by UPT

At the end of 2026, all partners will meet in Brașov (December 9–11, 2026) to prepare a consolidated report addressing:

  • Energy efficiency
  • Microclimate conditions
  • Seismic vulnerability of historical buildings

Sensor Solutions and Monitoring System

During the meeting, Prof. Dalibor Dobrilović presented the key sensor parameters that will be monitored, including:

  • Air temperature and pressure
  • Humidity levels
  • PM10 and PM2.5 particles
  • Structural vibrations (accelerometer and gyroscope)

Participants were also introduced to a potential software monitoring solution, demonstrated through the Klimerko platform, which enables real-time visualization and mapping of collected data.

The sensors are currently in the public procurement phase, with further updates to follow upon completion.

The meeting confirmed the strong collaboration among project partners and ensured clear alignment regarding both reporting requirements and planned activities for 2026.
