HEIstorical Promoted at the EMC 2026 International Symposium
Zrenjanin, Serbia – June 19–20, 2026
The HEIstorical project was promoted through a scientific paper presented at the 16th International Symposium Engineering Management and Competitiveness 2026 (EMC 2026), held at the Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” in Zrenjanin, University of Novi Sad.
The Paper
The paper “Analysis of the Condition of Historical Buildings in Serbia – Literature Review”, authored by Ivan Palinkaš, Eleonora Desnica, Jasmina Pekez, Bogdana Vujić, Ljiljana Radovanović and Borko Bulajić, reviews current research on:
- Risk management for historical buildings
- Energy efficiency and energy retrofitting strategies
- Seismic vulnerability and seismic assessment methodologies
- Sustainable regeneration of protected buildings, while preserving architectural authenticity and cultural significance
Relevance for HEIstorical
The topic directly supports the project’s objectives by connecting heritage preservation with sustainability, energy performance, risk management and green and digital capacities in higher education. The contribution strengthened the visibility of HEIstorical among researchers, educators and professionals in engineering management, built heritage and risk reduction.
