Participation in the BECCSI 2025 Conference (Biennial ESIS–CSIC Conference on Structural Integrity)
Belgrade, Serbia | November 25–28, 2025
Members of the project team participated in the Biennial ESIS–CSIC Conference on Structural Integrity (BECCSI) 2025, held in Belgrade, Serbia, from November 25 to 28, 2025. The event was organized by DIVK – the Serbian Society for Structural Integrity and brought together over 320 participants, providing a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of recent research results.
The conference included 4 plenary sessions and 6 parallel sessions, featuring relevant scientific contributions in areas such as fracture mechanics, structural integrity, and civil engineering.
Scientific Contribution in the Poster Session
Within the poster session, the following research paper was presented:
“Crack Patterns and Strengthening of Historical Unreinforced Masonry Structures”
The poster highlighted results regarding the behavior of historical unreinforced masonry structures, with a focus on crack patterns and strengthening measures/solutions that can support effective interventions compatible with the specific characteristics of heritage buildings.
Through participation in BECCSI 2025, the results were disseminated to an international audience, facilitating dialogue with specialists and opening opportunities for collaboration and the development of interdisciplinary research.
Collaborative Paper – Contribution of Partners
An important aspect of this contribution is its collaborative nature, the paper being developed with the active involvement of international partners. The authors are:
- Dorin Radu (Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania)
- Marijana Hadzima Nyarko (Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture Osijek, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia)
- Karlo Emmanuel Nyarko (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek, Croatia)
- Ercan Isik (Civil Engineering Department, Bitlis Eren University, Türkiye)
- Eleonora Desnica (“Mihajlo Pupin” Technical Faculty, University of Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Serbia)
This collaboration confirms the value of knowledge exchange between institutions and supports the project objectives by integrating complementary perspectives in the analysis and management of historical buildings.
